Chap. VII. # 2. THE PURPOSE OF GOD’ S LAW.

IF, YOU,CREATE SOMETHING OF USE, THEN . . .  Y O U . . . as the creator, must have full authority over its use, YES or NO?  Does it require the full obedience, then of and for every user? God is The Creator!

Obedience then, is always and everywhere is thus the evidence of love and loyalty. Jesus said…> John 14:21. “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

John 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.”    This means all ten not just nine ignoring the 4th, or the actual 2nd, as found in Exodus 20, as so many do in practice. WHY?

Matthew 1:21.  ‘And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Note: NO Church, no person, is able to Save you, but Christ Jesus, period! It matters not one whit, what others teach, this IS what the Bible, teaches!…..> John 14:6. “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Note: One either believes the Word of GOD, or the many words of men, right?

1 To what is GOD law likened to?

Galatians 3:24. “Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”

Note: The law which Paul speaks to here is the whole Jewish system. Therefore when we come to Verse 25, Paul is saying that no longer does Judaism function to point us to Christ… He [thankfully] has come! Thus all of Israel’s Laws– the ritual, the ceremonial laws— having served their purpose in the pointing to Christ, then yet to come. Plus they rejected Him, as their Savior – Messiah, as a nation.

2. What else is GOD’ s law likened to?

James 1:23-25. “For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.”

Today we have many hearers of the Word, but few of them are also doers, right?

3. Does the Law reveal God’s will?

Psalms 40:8. “I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.   Romans 2:16-17  In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. Behold, thou art called a Jew, and restest in the law, and makest thy boast of God,”

Romans 10:4. “ For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.”

Note: Some see and only read “Christ is the end of the Law” thinking that the Law is no more! Yet sadly the only laws they think are no longer in force are the 2nd and the 4th Laws of Exodus 20. However the Greek word for end = TELOS [Tel’-os]  Strong’ s Concordance # 5056 means to “set out for a definite point, or goal, the conclusion being Christ like in character! For only in Christ can one seek forgiveness after confessions and repentance to HIM, and no other, period!

4. Why is it necessary to receive the Spirit of Christ into the hearts?

Romans 8:4 . “hat the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”

5. How much of man’s duty is revealed by GOD’ s Law?

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14. “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.  For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”

Note: Satan, the greatest deceiver, has worked on the humans, making them think of slavery, and servitude to GOD, or He’ll zap you! Nothing is further from the truth, as God uses but two “WEAPONS” Love and Truth. Satan on the other hand uses everything else including murder, by other men! Do we not serve those we love? But none can love an unknown, and the ONLY  way we have to learn of them is from within His Word, agree?

6. Does GOD’ s Law have anything to do with the Conversions of men?

Psalms 19:7. “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.”

Note:The Law has no power to pardon transgressions. The Law reveals and identifies what is sin, and points one who reads them to Christ.. When a person reads them, with a willing heart, the minds is quickened by the convictions of the Holy Spirit of God. Then they see their defilement and it then in a frame of mind to listen to a message that offers cleansing through Christ.

7. What does GOD’ s Law have to do with the Judgment?

James 2:12. “So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. 1 John 5:3. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”

Conclusion:

The Bible mentions many blessings, and many more promises which attend those who give heed to GOD’ s Law. David says…> Psalms 19:11. “Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.  Psalms 111:10  The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.”

Still another of Satan’ s deceptions is the meaning of this word FEAR, most of the time the word is better translated as REVERE, or even to stand in awe of. But many still teach fire and brimstone, trying to scare the hell out their flock!  Psalms 111:7-8. “The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.”
